Truwana Ranger – Cape Barren Island

We are inviting applications for the role of Truwana Ranger to join our team on Truwana/Cape Barren Island.

This is an identified Aboriginal position and an important opportunity to contribute to caring for Country, protecting cultural heritage, and supporting the wellbeing of the Truwana community.

About the Role

As a Truwana Ranger, you will work as part of ALCT’s land, waters and sea management team to support the protection and sustainable management of Aboriginal Land on Truwana. The role combines practical land management with community engagement, ensuring that cultural knowledge and values guide the care of Country.

This role can be full-time or part-time as part of our flexible working arrangements to support an inclusive work culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting initiatives that contribute to the health and well-being of Truwana and its residents,
  • Supporting land and sea management activities, including weed control, fire management, and monitoring local flora and fauna,
  • Working with community members and Elders to ensure cultural knowledge informs land management practices,
  • Assisting with environmental education and community outreach activities,
